Commonwealth Corporation builds career pathways for youth and adults in Massachusetts to prepare for high demand jobs in the state’s knowledge and innovation economy. We work in partnership with business, labor, education, workforce and community-based organizations and government to carry out this mission.
We focus our work in a few priority areas: sector partnerships, youth and young adult pathwaysand regional workforce development capacity. These areas of focus each use our in-house research and evaluation and program development capacity to build a high performance system among workforce and education partners in every region of the state.
Commonwealth Corporation is a nationally-recognized leader in building industry sector partnershipsthat address the skill needs of specific employers in an industry, creating new or expanded capacity in education and training programs for demand occupations. In our youth pathways work, we focus on enhancing youth employment opportunities, building multiple education and employment pathways with local districts and delivering education, vocational training and employment services for youth in the juvenile justice system.
We are a data-driven and results-focused organization, and build regional capacity throughout the Commonwealth by providing products and technical assistance to the field. We evaluate sector and youth pathway programs that we fund directly, as well as workforce programs that are funded through other sources. We provide labor market information and best practice guides to enhance decision-making and service delivery among state and regional policy makers and practitioners. We work through partnerships with a wide range of organizations to create state and regional strategies to address critical workforce development challenges in the Commonwealth.
