Earlier this month, 51 students graduated from Middlesex Community College’s (MCC) Academy of Health Professions, earning college-credited certificates in Nursing Assisting, Medical Receptionist, Medical Secretary and Phlebotomy. MCC’s Academy of Health Professions is a new accelerated evening/weekend career-training initiative that has admitted more than 300 students in the last 18 months. The graduation ceremony marks the conclusion of several grants, including the Innovative Post-Secondary Educational Models (IPSEM) grant given to MCC’s Academy by Commonwealth Corporation. Joanne Goldstein, Secretary of Labor and Workforce Development, and Karen Shack, Senior Workforce Development Consultant from Commonwealth Corporation, attended the graduation ceremony along with guests from the MetroNorth Regional Employment Board, The Career Place in Woburn, Greater Lowell Workforce Investment Board & Career Center, Lahey Clinic and Hallmark Health and college administrators.

Congratulations to all the graduates!
