Skilled Immigrant Recredentialing Program
Overview
The Skilled Immigrant Recredentialing Program is designed to unlock the full potential of internationally trained professionals currently underutilized in Massachusetts’ workforce.
The program will focus on bridging the gap between prior education and experience gained abroad and the requirements of U.S. licensure and employment. Through targeted investments in credential evaluation, occupational training, ESOL services, and wraparound supports, the initiative will create clear, accelerated pathways for skilled immigrants to re-enter their professions in high-demand sectors such as healthcare, education, and advanced manufacturing. This work is grounded in strong employer partnerships and aligned with regional labor market needs to ensure that participants transition into quality, career track employment.
The program will be structured to balance strategic rigor with practical implementation and prioritizing scalable models, measurable outcomes, and equitable access across regions. The approach emphasizes cross-sector collaboration, leveraging community-based organizations, higher education institutions, and industry partners to create a coordinated ecosystem of support.
This program will launch its first RFP in July 2026.
