Access Centered Justice Strategies

A Commonwealth Corporation Priority Initiative

Commonwealth Corporation partners with the Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS), the state Department of Youth Services (DYS), and the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development (EOLWD) to provide residential programming, mental health services, and career development opportunities to individuals. Through skill-building, high-quality education, and a pathway to employment, our programs enable participants to redirect their lives and break the cycle of recidivism. We empower participants to re-enter the workforce with the experience, tools, and resources needed to thrive.

Re-Entry Workforce Development Demonstration Program

The Re-Entry Workforce Development Demonstration Program is an initiative of Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development Secretary Rosalin Acosta in support of Governor Baker’s effort to improve workforce outcomes among individuals returning to their communities after incarceration.

Safe and Successful Youth Initiative

The 14 SSYI programs are overseen by the Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS). Commonwealth Corporation provides program, fiscal, and administrative management assistance to EOHHS and technical assistance to the 14 funded sites.

Department of Youth Services

Commonwealth Corporation partners with the state’s Department of Youth Services (DYS) and the Collaborative for Educational Services (CES) to ensure that youth and teens committed to the Massachusetts juvenile justice system have access to high-quality education and employment opportunities.

Commonwealth Corporation is a quasi-public agency that was established in 1996 under the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development.
