Youth Advancement Strategies

A Commonwealth Corporation Priority Initiative

Commonwealth Corporation creates opportunities for youth and young adults to define an early career trajectory and reach their highest potential. Through a mix of in-person, hybrid, and virtual work experiences, innovative programming, dynamic partnerships, and comprehensive work readiness training, we meet the emerging needs of employers and foster career exploration for participants. Our hands-on career readiness curriculum, combined with tangible outcomes, supports participants in gaining sustainable and fulfilling employment.

YouthWorks

YouthWorks is a state-funded youth employment program that helps teens and young adults get the skills and experience needed to find and keep jobs. Participants take part in paid short-term work placements during the summer and/or school year at public, private, and nonprofit work sites.

Signal Success

Signal Success is a comprehensive career readiness curriculum designed and tested by education and workforce development partners to help young people develop essential skills for future success in the workplace.

Employment Program for Young Adults with Disabilities Program

Individuals with disabilities have one of the highest barriers to employment among underrepresented groups in the workforce. The Employment Program for Young Adults with Disabilities Program is designed to counter those barriers by providing employment opportunities for those individuals.

Youth Employment Programs

CommCorp runs a variety of employment programs across the state to provide youth the opportunity to envision themselves as workers, explore careers, and gain basic necessary soft and technical skills.

Commonwealth Corporation is a quasi-public agency that was established in 1996 under the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development.
