CommCorp runs a variety of employment programs across the state to provide youth the opportunity to envision themselves as workers, explore careers, and gain basic necessary soft and technical skills. Youth are employed in various capacities depending on the program and provided on-the-job technical skills in a variety of trades including manufacturing, culinary, carpentry, maintenance, and horticulture.
Through youth employment programs, we offer young people the chance to gain financial literacy, skills, and access to resources to successfully manage their finances into adulthood. Programs for youth employment cover a broad range of skills and help youth gain the abilities and training necessary to be successful in transitioning to adulthood and careers.
We introduce youth to culinary basics as well as how to safely work within a professional kitchen. Our culinary programming provides youth the opportunity to learn culinary skills through hands-on training, as well as be employed in professional commercial kitchens and for catered events.
Reclamation Woodcrafts is a small woodshop that teaches youth on-the-job technical skills that can be used in a variety of trade positions while simultaneously teaching soft skills that are applicable in all settings. We do this while creating unique wood crafts and, whenever possible, do so with recycled materials.
Green Leaves Farm employs youth that are interested in growing sustainable and organic vegetables, herbs, and flowers. The youth typically learn how to grow microgreens and edible flowers and are educated on harvesting, seeding, and watering techniques.
Exclusive Property Management employs young men to learn and execute a variety of maintenance tasks. Work, training, and experience vary by site, but typically include painting, buffing, stripping and waxing, lawn care, and snow removal.
